Starting of our list at number five. What if you plan on spending a lot of time on the water and you’re not keen on traveling at the lowest speeds? If that’s the case, then perhaps this 55Ah AGM battery from Mighty Max will suit your needs.
Upgrading from a 35Ah battery to this will be a pleasant surprise for you if you’re using a 30 pounds thrust trolling motor. Instead of staying at the lowest speed settings, you can expect up to four hours of service. Even when you’re constantly at full speeds.
4) Interstate Lead Acid AGM
- This is a Group U1 or GT9L battery, with a small form factor that makes it easy to mount in any boat or recreational vehicle.
- Designed and manufactured using AGM (absorbent glass mat) technology, the Interstate DCM0035 does not require maintenance and is safe to mount at any angle in your boat.
- At just 7.7 inches in length and 5.2 inches in width, this is a small battery that’s easy to transport. It weighs 23 pounds and has a convenient carry strap, making it light enough to carry in one hand.
- The Interstate DCM0035 has a thick, rugged plastic exterior that can tolerate bumps and scratches without damaging the battery.
At number four, again we have a 35Ah battery many find the 35Ah rating good enough for several hours of leisurely travel on the water. And this battery from Interstate Batteries works very well indeed.
First off, the size may throw you off, and you may think that it doesn’t offer enough power for your needs. Actually, Interstate Lead Acid AGM Battery is specially designed to be compact since it’s also meant for use in various types of medical equipment, such as electric wheelchairs. It measures only 7.7 by 5.2 by 6.3 inches. And it only weighs 23.8 pounds. For more information, check out the description underneath the video.
3) Mighty Max 35AH AGM

Half way of our list at number three, the Mighty Max battery is another 35Ah trolling motor battery. Except this time, it’s a bit more affordable. Yet it offers many terrific features that you may not expect from a battery, at a lower cost. First of all, it’s quite compact. It measures 7.68 by 5.16 by 7.13 inches. It’s also not that heavy, at 23 pounds and 15 pence. It’s also an AGM battery that’s spill proof, and it can be used for a wide range of operating temperatures. It’ll last long, regardless of whether you’re using this for high or low temperatures.
2) VMAXTANKS vmax857 Tm AGM
At number two, this is another famous brand among batteries of this type. And it’s a perfect example of how one battery can be better than another, even if they offer the same Ah rating. The VMAXTANKS vmax857 Tm AGM battery comes with a 35Ah rating, yet in many ways it’s clearly superior to others that also have 35Ah. This is extremely durable, and it’ll last long than your typical battery. That’s because it features premium performance, military grade metal plates, and they’re thicker to boot. This makes it stronger, and it’s able to withstand vibrations better.
And coming in at number one of our list, the Optima brand is one of the most popular and most well known names in the trolling motor battery industry. And this particular 8,016,103 D35 in blue top is a best seller. Optima color codes its batteries to specify how it should be used. And a regular blue top is used as a dedicated starting battery. This regular variant uses a dark gray case, and it’s different from this other version that uses a light gray case. This time, it can be used for both starting and deep cycling operations. What this means is that it is a very versatile battery.

Hey, folks. Jason here. One of my favorite little items that I bought for my inflatable fishing boat was the Minn Kota trolling center battery compartment. Essentially what this has done for me, number one, it makes it real easy to carry my battery around. These marine batteries can be pretty darn heavy. Number two, it keeps it super clean, so I don’t have to worry about my battery getting corroded as a result of being out on the water, and I’ll do a walk around here with you in just a couple minutes to show you some of the features.
I love how easy they make it to make sure that I’m hooking the battery up right, and I’m not accidentally crossing the polarity, which obviously could create some problems. Then, I really like the fact that this little device has a gauge on it, so I can always check my battery’s strength before I go out on the water.
Then, the other thing I really like about it are these little 12-volt extenders, or 12-volt jacks that I have, so that I can plug things like my inflatable fishing boat air pump into the side, and have a power source wherever I’m at.
It will hold your 12-volt deep cycle marine battery securely. Battery center has a sturdy plastic box, a vented cover, lift handles on each side, and one on the top. When using with the Sea Eagle FoldCat, use the provided strap to attach to the rear slat. The built-in battery meter lets you check the charge with just the push of a button. The easy access external battery terminals let you connect your motor without removing the cover. Two 12-volt ports let you charge your other accessories. The Minn Kota battery center stores your battery securely and out of the way while you’re out boating.
This thing is used to house my EverStart deep cycle marine battery. The awesome thing about this Minn Kota power center is that it protects the battery. As you can see here, there’s no corrosion going on. I’ve had this battery for two years. What I like is once you connect it up from the inside, you have easy accessible terminals to connect your accessories to. It also has two 12-volt outlets here, so you can connect accessories to it. If you wanted to put this 12-volt battery accessory, you can do that just like that. Then, you could charge it up to an iPhone or what have you.
Another awesome feature is that it has this test button here so you can see how full the battery is. It also has these two features here, these breakers, a 10-amp boat accessory breaker and a 60-amp trolling motor breaker. It has a really nice strap that goes across here and connects to the other side right over here. Then, the handle, once you have everything strapped up, it makes it really easy to carry.
